Getting the scale moving again (in the right direction, that is)

So, tonight was our weekly Pound Plunge weigh-in and we are both doing a "happy dance" as it ended up being a good week despite doin' a little Super Bowl partyin'!  It was also nice to put a dent into the bad weigh-in we both had last week!
 
Sonja weighed in at 211.1 lbs., which is the lowest she's been since restarting the Pound Plunge this year... and it gets her closer & closer to that mini-goal of "onederland"!  This was a 1.6 lb. loss for the week.
 
Aaron is moving in the right direction again as well... weighing in at 205 lbs. this week.  What that means is he is right back to his starting point!  Guess that means he gets a fresh start, huh?
 
Well, next week we will not be weighing in on Thursday, as we will be on a college visit to Aaron's next "alma mater"... K-State (go Cats!).  He is planning to transfer there over the summer, so we're gonna take a couple of days to go check everything out.  We will be weighin' in on Monday instead (make-up day), and when we blog about those results, we'll let ya'll know how the visit goes as well...

Weigh-in on time... Post delayed...

Sorry I didn't post on Thursday after our weigh-in (or anytime since then)... seems life has been quite busy over the past couple of days, and I've barely had time to breathe!  So anyway, weigh-in for our local Pound Plunge competition was Thursday night, and unfortunately, it was not a good night for either of us!
 
Sonja had a mildly bad week on the scale, weighing in at 212.7 lbs. - which means she gained 0.7 lbs. this week.  It isn't much of a gain, but it did move the scale the wrong direction. 
 
Aaron however, had a horrible week.  After having a nice loss last week, he gained back what he lost, as well as a little extra!  He weighed in at 207.8 lbs., which means that he gained 4.2 lbs.!  College life (aka partyin') seems to be catchng himself as he tries to get in better shape before he plans to transfer to a new college this summer.
 
Are you ready for some football????  Remember that you can enjoy the game w/out TOTALLY BLOWIN' all the good work we've all done!  Until next week...

Weigh-in time once again...

So. it's weigh-in night again for our local Pound Plunge competition, and we are pleased to report it was a good one for both of us!
 
Sonja had another good week on the scale, weighing in at 212 lbs. - which is another loss of 3.1 lbs. this week!  She wasn't sure what to expect this week after the near 10lb. loss last week, so we'll definitely take this!
 
Aaron is all psyched, because he finally saw the scale move (and in the right direction), weighing in at 203.6 lbs.  This resulted in a 1.4 lb. loss for him this week, which is really remarkable considering that he's basically been starving himself trying to get results!  (not a good idea - which Sonja pointed out to him after the weigh-in!) 
 
Hope everyone else is having a FABULOUS week... and we'll check in again next week!

A quick lil' post...

Okay... first off, thanks for all the supportive comments since our return.  It's good to be back among all our MPM friends (or at least the ones who are still around!). 
 
Secondly, I've had a few of ya ask me how the heck I lost 9.6 lbs. this week.  No, I am not doing 6-hr workouts like the BL contestants... LOL - don't think my bod could take that!  I actually credit 2 things (one good, one bad):  first the bad... I actually gained 10lbs. over Christmas & a week-long trip to TX to visit family.  So I figure it came off faster because I just very recently packed it on so quickly.  (or at least that is wishful thinking)  As for the good reason, you should all get a real kick out of this!
 
I have really amped up my workouts, actually working out almost every day, if not every day.  But the funny thing is the type of workouts I've been doing:  I call them my "Jillian-inspired" workouts!  I warm-up on my elliptical for at least 10 minutes, then jump on my stationary bike.  I set my bike for a 30-minute cardio workout, and then alternate 1 minute cardio & 30 second sprints throughout the middle 20 minutes of the workout.  The kicker is that as I'm doing the "sprint" part, I try to get up to 25mph if possible.  In doing this, I start to wane after about 15-20 seconds... so in order to keep myself going, I yell out my last 10 second countdown, just like Jillian does for the BL contestants.  (or more recently, like Bob did when he went off on Joelle!  lol) 
 
You can just imagine what my hubby thinks when he hears me screaming "10 - 9 - 8 - 7 - 6 - 5 - 4 - 3 - 2 - 1" at the top of my lungs, while practically out of breath anyway, every couple of minutes!  I'm pretty sure he thinks I'm losing it these days, but hey, it apparently is working by the look of the scale this week, so who cares?  So, anyway, that's my explanation for the awesome weight loss this week, and hopefully it will continue into next week... come back on Thursday & I'll let ya know for sure!
 
So, as I like to say, GET YOUR BUTTS UP OFF THAT COUCH & KEEP CHUGGIN' THAT WATER...

Pound Plunge week #1

First of all. it was great to hear from so many of you after our last blog!  Glad to have such a warm welcome back!
 
On to our Pound Plunge weigh-in this week:
 
Sonja had a fabulous week on the scale, weighing in at 215.1 lbs. - which means that she lost 9.6 lbs. this week!  WooHoo... guess all those workouts really paid off along w/ getting her diet back on track finally!  Let's just hope she can keep it up next week!
 
Aaron stayed the same, weighing in at 205 lb. again.  It took him a little longer to get back into a "healthy" mode, as he puts it, but he has finally gotten there, so hopefully next week will be much better for him as well!
 
We'll let you know how it goes... hope everyone has a good weekend, and work a little "movement" into it!
